HELP ME PLS!!! NEW JERSIAN needs to have a COPY OF PASSPORT NOTARIZED to be sent to CALIFORNIA

I was wondering if someone could help me what to do with notarizing a copy of my passport to be sent to the Board of Nursing in California. They requested a copy of my passport and i don’t really know how to go about with doing so. I saw in another forum that there’s a “Copy Certification by Document Custodian” which applied to california, and wondered if i could use the same letter even though i’m from jersey? |

Since you are in New Jersey you will need to use a New Jersey form. I don’t know if NJ has a notary handbook available on the web under your state government page, but I would check that first. If this type of notarization is allowed in NJ, then there will be instructions on how it’s to be done. |

Simply make a photocopy of your passport, write a statement in your own words that the photocopy is a true and exact copy of your original passport. Then date it and have your signature notarized by a New Jersey Notary. You pick the notarial certificate – whether it be an acknowledgment or jurat. Passports are not vital records and I checked the New Jersey notary public manual and my suggestion is not prohibited. Just to be on the safe side, give the New Jersey SOS a call to verify what I suggested is okay – as added security. |
