Counties concern

How come Kissimmee, FL is showing up as Polk County? It is not in Polk it is in Osceola county and the heart of Kissimmee runs on US 192 and Polk county is no where near that highway and besides that the city does not sit on the county like. It is probably 30-45 minutes away from Polk county and you can go to City-data to confirm my fact at http://www.city-data.com/city/Kissimmee-Florida.html oh and actually i believe if i am not mistaken then i recall Kissimmee is the county seat of Osceola.

This happens from time to time. We don’t make the location data up, we get it from a third party like everyone else who needs location based functionality. Almost all the time, its correct. There have been a few instances where people have pointed out a flaw, which we review, try to get changed at the source, and then fix locally. If we locally fix the issue, but our third party data source does not, the fix would get wiped out on the next update. This is why there is a bit of a delay sometimes. However, we do get these resolved.

Ok sounds good i hope it get fix soon because i don’t want any of my future clients confuses but that does make since. I was pretty sure you were using a third party like most web site and software do for different aspects of there services and products.

very nice, thank you but and let me stress i hate to be a pain in the royal a$$ but Lady Lake, FL is not Sumter county it is in Lake county. I think the map source code you use is using an late 1800’s early 1900’s map of Florida at least if not the USA because Lady Lake and Leesburg have not been part of Sumter county since it got split and that is when Lake county was formed. I know a lot about the counties being split here because i am history fanatic at least about Florida.
