I am a Virginia Commissioned Notary Public who is hired as an independent contractor by a closing agent to ensure real estate loan documents are properly executed by the borrower, notarized and returned for processing. I travel to a borrower’s home or place of business to oversee signings of the loan documents as a service to the closing agent and the borrower. In this process I will notarize one or more documents in a loan package. Then it is my job to ensure the various loan documents not requiring notarization are correctly signed, dated and initialed. Then I review the documents to ensure that all documents are properly executed. This all assists the closing agent in an expeditious manner. We are available 24 hours/7 days a week.
